How The No Spin Zone Should Be!

The 8/30/06 edition of The O’Reilly Factor had a rare occurance of No spin in the No Spin Zone. O’Reilly, unfortunately, had nothing to do with it as he was vactioning.

John Kasich was sitting in for O’Reilly and proceeded to have a fair and balanced debate on the topic of Rumsfeld’s “appeaser” comments with Paul Hackett and Dan Senor

In my book I would replace O’Reilly with Kasich who at least seems to want to get at the truth, rather than force his opinions on everyone as the truth. But, alas it will not happen. With the lack of O’Reilly’s rants, constant focus on the evil left and fixation on tablod topics, the demographic that gives the show its high ratings would likely evaporate.

Who wants to hear differing opinions presented in a fair manner with the host not taking sides on serious topics?

Appreciate your taking a look at the video of the edition in question and posting a comment and link on our webpage eyesonfox.

We will put a link to your site as well.

    Onto the meat.

I don’t think its Marxist to want open debate on a topic, something that is often missing on O’Reilly’s show when his opinion differs with a guest on a passonate topic.

In my opinion, Paul Hackett was a jerk and flew way off the handle in an ugly attack on Dan Senor in a totally unfounded way. Hackett came off very badly in that segment, while Senor came off very well in the face of the vomit Hackett was spewing off.

Kasich constantly called Hackett down and chastized him for ad-hominum attacks.

I would think conservatives would value this kind of thing as it shows Hackett for what he is and gives them fodder.

By no means do I condone what Hackett did, but that does not mean I would silence him either.

I like you was surprised Fox would allow anyting like that on their network coming from an obvious Democrat. Of course if Ann Coulter had been saying it, they would have allowed her to continue I’m sure though she seems to be as ugly to people as Hackett is, but so far only when they are not on the same show as she.

If allowing free speech and open debate with ugly people like Hackett and Coulter is Marxist, so be it.

I strongly beleive in open discourse and not just from one side.
