Get Out Your Pompoms for the Pro-Bush, Pro-War Cheer!
What I love best about Fox News is the diversity of opinions expressed on the network.
I swear, if you watch Fox News continually during the Israeli-Hezbollah conflict you learn quickly to hail Bush and foment for war. David Asman did his best as fill-in for Neil Cavuto on Your World (8-11-2006) to carry on this fine Fox tradition. There were repeated references to nukes, Israel refusing to play along with a ceasefire resolution, and Syria and/or Iran joining the battle.
As I ran through the tape of Your World tonight a rerun of The O’Reilly Factor was playing in the background essentially parroting Asman’s general script. It must be the theme for a day at Fox News. I’m not privy to Ailes’ daily topical dictates so it’s only a guess on my part - an educated guess. Which makes sense. Promos for both The O’Reilly Factor and Hannity & Colmes feature prominant Bushies.
The only other thing I’ll preface this clip with is to give you a head’s up it’s a montage from Your World. Obviously, montage’s are instantly suspect. In my defense, I did the best I could to keep the flavor of the show while distilling it down to its essence. I don’t think David Asman would complain. In fact, I bet the boy’s beaming with pride. David - if you’re listening - I’ll be glad to send a copy to your mom.

Hi sknabt,
I guess you’re not going to respond to my Forum listing, so I will make comments on your blog.
Again, you are blinded by your bias and your passion. Have you ever listened to Air America?
They NEVER have opposing guests on. I have listened for hours at a time. Conservative talk radio constantly has opposing guests on. Why aren’t you calling Air America on the carpet? My guess is because truth and perspective are less important to you than bashing conservative outlets.
If your passion is trying to bring balance, then why not bring it in all places that are unbalanced, such as universities, mainstream media, major newspapers?
I bet you don’t even notice their one sided bias. Hmmm…are you really for true perspective???
[…] What’s concerning is as I watch Fox News there’s a hard push to the right. Hannity interviewing Condi. O’Reilly interviewing Snow. Yes, they’re Bushies. Yes, the interview are polite because conservatives are being questioned. But both Hannity and O’Reilly are prodding the Bushies to the right. This sort of stuff not too surprisingly dominated Saturday’s 8-12-2006) 2-hour business block. It’s a hard to miss Fox News’ trend. For example, I document some of it here. […]
Of Course Fox is right wing. It isn’t just a matter of being right wing by comparison with other networks. Their bias stands on its own. Many opposing comments I see are based on the fact that Fox has more or less an equal number of guests from the left and right which in itself is in error but even if that were true the hosts are the source of the obvious bias when they agree with the republican view and ridicule that of the democrats. There are countless examples of the host based bias. How about Mancow calling democrats dummycraps? How about Fox and Fiends hosts Dunce Ducey, Bully Brian and that empty headed blonde tart bashing Obama with the lie that he attended a terrorist backed school? Count the times Oreilly goes after the far left as opposed to the far right in a week. This is not a news channel. It is an opinion channel and those opinions are heavily tilted to the right by the hosts other tan Colmes and possibly Greta Van Susuteren. Just watch CNN wasnington Journal and you see real fair and balanced. The host does NOT give opinions and alternates calls among the right, left and independent callers. I am not nearly so disturbed by the fact that Fox ismright wing if they would only own to it but the number of people that are fooled by their brainwashing.
John, you do a great job of summing up Fox News’ outrageous conservative bias. Unfortunately, its spin is exceptionally popular with the right-wing talk radio crowd shooting its ratings through the cable news roof. So, rather than cleaning up their act, since the last election, they’ve ratcheted up their spin to an even wilder frenzy.
