Sean Hannity’s enemy list

The one thing most folks can agree on about Fox News’ comical “fair and balanced” slogan is the network is everything but. Still, the overtly conservative network could be a little bit more subtle about their disdain for liberals.

I was watching Hannity’s America recently. Sean’s beyond a tinge conservative. He’s one from an extensive stable of conservative talk show hosts who have made their fortunes as reliable bashers of anything liberal and hopeless apologists for anything conservative. So immersed in conservative ideology is Sean he’s put together a conservative dating service. I suppose it’s important to keep the blood lines pure. ;)

So, as I watched, it wasn’t shocking to me that, for example, Sean ran a several minute clip of a Ronald Reagan speech for inspiration. The segment was entitled “What would Reagan do?”

But what really caught my eye was his over-the-topic ridiculous backdrop for his “Enemy of the Week” segment. “Enemy” comes off as an awfully strong, value-laden term to use to describe people who often simply are liberal. But from Sean’s – and probably conservative Fox News’ perspective – that’s how they see things. They are, in their view, both personal enemies and enemies of America.

Let me know what you think.

I enjoy Fox…I think CBS, NBC, PBS, and ABC have a liberal bias – and you are worried bc one station may have a conservative bias…grow up!!! You are very close minded. This is the arena of ideas, yet you probably want the fairness doctrine to shut up anyone not LIBERAL. There is room for all. I have noticed the liberal women are not very attractive. at least Ann Coulter is! (that must make you very angry) At the Democrat conventions, the pp are usually pretty ugly except for John Edwards. (hope you have seen his primping on UTUBE. Why are democrats such angry people?

What conservatives call the “mainstream media” definitely is liberally biased. Of course, what conservatives actively ignore is they’re conservatively biased as well.

To be frank with you, I’m not all that impressed with the American TV media and I’d add to the list Fox News’ cable competitors CNN and MSNBC. They aren’t so much ideologically driven as shamelessly chasing a buck. As a result, unpopular topics like international news is crippled in favor of sensational celebrity ‘news’ like Alec Baldwin’s recent temper tantrum.

But Fox News is in a category of it’s own. We focus here primarily on the fact Fox News is actively promoting Republican branded conservative politics. But even when they aren’t busy twisting viewers’ opinions, their news is pretty sorry. Per Murdoch’s modus operandi, he sensationalizes the news like the notorious yellow journalists of the past.

Fox News is essentially the Rush Limbaugh ‘news’ network. Sure, conservatives like yourself enjoy the comfort of being spoon-fed ideas you agree with. But is that healthy in a democracy?

I’m not out to ban Fox News. They have a perfect right to exist even if every time they say they’re “fair and balanced” they’re lying to their viewers. But I will expose their steady stream of conservative propaganda for what it is.

My own comment, there are dozens of conservative sites who sit to debunk the so-called liberal media, I wonder why it’s such a big deal that a guy points out hypocrisy or ad hominem attacks made by one news channel. Please note that he hasn’t said a word about it being conservative but instead that many of the personalities here make insults and twist data so badly that they could argue that 2+3=chair.
