Bill slips off the fence
Sorry for the late, rushed post tonight. But I had to watch my beloved Hokies partially redeem a disappointing season by putting some serious whoop-ass on the 10th ranked Clemson Tigers down in my old haunt, Blacksburg, Virginia.
Tonight was, more or less, stem cell research night on The O’Reilly Factor. Try as Bill O’Reilly may to bend over backwards to throw up the pretense of sitting on the fense on the issue, the strains were showing from his opening Talking Points where toward the end his criticisms, albeit mild, started to tip in one direction. Really no big deal (by O’Reilly standards). This was followed up by a couple of media analysts droning on about a pair of TV commercials, one featuring Michael J. Fox. Nothing much going on there.
Then it starts getting a little strange. Bill, who loves to boast he features more liberals than conservatives, brings in right-wing Laura Ingraham. Let’s imagine Geraldo’s later tabloid trash segment counts as the counterbalancing liberal and just write that bit off. The opening of the show teaser says she’s going to discuss Bush’s signing of an immigration bill, he introduces her as going to talk about the election, then the entire segment ends up her treating us to a monologue on stem cell research.
But the treat for me is watching Bill’s later debate with Bernie Goldberg and Jane Hall. To kick this segment off he rolls the tape of Diane Sawyer interviewing Sean Hannity. Bill’s all excited over Diane’s bias. Huh? If that exchange bothers him how come he’s never bothered by Sean’s outrageous treatment of liberal guests on Hannity & Colmes? Heck, O’Reilly’s bias shines far brighter during this segment than anything Diane does in the clips he broadcast. O’Reilly clearly goes after the libs.
Is O’Reilly a tad thin-skinned when it comes to conservatives getting criticized? I don’t care how many times the once-upon-a-time registered Republican boasts now he’s an independent.
“I think that was pretty fair and balanced. Right?” – Bill O’Reilly
Well, not really, Bill, but keep trying.

Did O’Reilly say he’s not a Republican? Oh my, where’s my medication?
I see O’Liely got a little shot in at the Dixie Chicks at the end. What a weasel.
i like the nickname “O’Liely” used in above comment. O’Liely lies delightly. he is as irrational as rush clingball while she, one of the two fox news contributors in the video, seems very much the opposite. hope she wont get fired by fox pretty soon.
I’m not into O’Reilly’s Dixie Chicks bashing, what’s it all about?
