“Fair and balanced” Fox & Freinds was off the charts in its trademarked even-handedness this morning.
So I tune in to hear the trio of bobbleheads in a coordinated editorial promoting a popular talking point I’d picked up on XM’s conservative channel yesterday. To wit, the New York City “Freedom Tower” rising from the ashes [...]

I watched some CNN this morning for the first time in ages. What struck me after monitoring propaganda factory Fox News for so long is how much better CNN’s news coverage and analysis is than Fox News’ narrowly focused script. And I’m not even referring to the Fox News pundit shows I tend to concentrate [...]

Hypocrisy is nothing new to Fox News. In fact, it’s standard operating procedure for the “fair and balanced” network. So it’s no surprise that the network featuring motor mouths like Bill O’Reilly who squeal that other news outlets get talking points from the blue blogs like Media Matters is itself picking up a story – [...]

The running conservative editorial that is Fox News is exemplified by Hannity. Hardly “fair and balanced” with token, knock-over liberal “& Colmes” tacked on the end of the show’s title, little except for listening to the breathless pundits on talk radio could have prepared us for a Colmes-less world.
It’s a testament to the monolithic conservative [...]

Fox News’ “fair and balanced” breathless Obama-bashing hysteria is ceaseless. This morning during Fox & Friends they ran an ad for Hannity promoting a segment with “fair and balanced” Karl Rove. The announcer asks the “fair and balanced” questions is the Obama administration “trying to control our lives” and out “to destroy us.”
Welcome to the [...]

Crackpot Glenn Beck is into stoking up the flames of fear.
In this clip Glenn Beck is whipping up hysteria reminiscent of the New World Order UN-bashing popular with conservatives in the 90’s. Those dopey conspiracies bubbled up into the popular culture to paint a picture of the stereotypical militia nut ranting about trainloads of [...]

When you think of the musing of the far right one topic you think is sacrosanct is praise for the troops fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan against Muslim terrorists and extremists. Well, not exactly in the case of Red Eye, Fox News’ late night experiment in hip bad taste. That rule only applies to American [...]

While Bill O’Reilly occasionally criticized President Bush – always for not being conservative enough for his tastes on issues like immigration – he pretty much dragged along his fellow Republican (yeah, I know Bill dumped his party registration after he got caught) across the finishing line. That’s pretty much eight years of carrying buckets of [...]

The hysteria coming from the far right is so fast and furious I can sympathize if they’re having trouble keeping their facts up with their smears. A case in point comes from Media Matters where Sean Hannity and Mike Huckabee are accusing President Obama of lying about transparency by using the parliamentary trick of reconciliation [...]

The Beltway Boys to a degree follows the standard Fox News formula. There’s a definite lack of political diversity in the program. Mort is allegedly liberal but here he calls himself a “little d Democrat” which I translate to mean a right-leaning moderate at best. Where they depart from the typical Fox News fare is [...]
